I love cats, I've always wanted to have one to myself. I was scared of dogs(I'm still scared a bit) but recently my friend got 2 puppies and they're so cute I'm thinking about having a dog too. I don't know if dogs and cats can stay together, Ive heard so many stories about them fighting.. Do you think I can keep both of them?

I think that cats and dogs can live together peacefully if they're both young when they meet and get to know each other from the beginning.

@myklj999 I think there would be problems also for the combination old cat/young dog. The playful puppy would get some bad scratches from the old cat which wants to be left in peace.

@myklj999 I think it depends on the dog breed. I don't see an old dachshund or poodle killing a young cat with sharp claws.
