Being fat or not?

Some friends and family advised me to eat for two. They said I should gain more weight. I try to always eat healthy food with bigger amount and more often. But I only gain 1 kg during my 5 month pregnancy. I discussed about this with my husband, and he said i needed no worry about my weight. Just focus on living healthy life and stay calm and positive. But I still wonder. Is it true that I need to eat for two and be fat?

Not correctly. It's not just about how much you eat. It also about what you eat. If you want to gain weight during pregnancy consume more of sweet things - it help to increase your baby weight as well. It's advisable to gain around 8-15 kgs to ensure you and your baby healthy.

Who told you that? If you want to get fat, get more starchy foods or more carbo intakes.

i had a co-worker who only starter gaining weight when she was already in her last 3 months of pregnancy. i think it's better to talk to your doctor about your weight gain. does the doctor know you don't eat meat, fish and dairy?

I have told my doctor that I'm vegan. And what her reaction was she just said that's awesome. I will discuss about my diet again in our next appointment with her.

There are weight gain recommendations for pregnant women. Ask your doctor or health care provider how much weight you should gain. That would determine what and how much you should eat.

It's fine to eat as much you want or what's right for you. Don't listen to others

@Miss_Leafy What is important most is what you feel about her weight and not anyone else. I have been fat off and on all my life and then 3 years ago I took a real look at myself. I did not like what I saw. I decided to do something about it. I went on my own journey to lose weight and I can say I did it and am very proud of where I am today because I finally did i for myself.

@Miss_Leafy I am glad you were inspired by my story. I took a good look at myself in the mirror and did not like what I saw. It took a long time because it is not easy to give up things. I finally started to do it for myself. I started to give up things and what I worked up to is just eating two meals a day. I take medication so cannot eat after I take it. I do not eat in between meals and do not snack. I eat less and I exercise 3 times a day and found a walking video I do after I eat lunch during the week. So, that is basically what I do.
