My first discussion.

Yes, That's me!

So I've taken the first step and signed up to myLot and now I have to decide what to write about. I can see from just looking around that many topics are covered already and I'm sure that there are many that aren't but at the end of the day I can only write about what I know. So what do I know? Some would say not a lot, I like to think that I know about a lot of things to varying degrees of depth. All I have to do is choose one of these things and away I can go. The subjects that I would like to write about are the things that have been important in my life and that I hope will be interesting to people so I will go through a few of these things and maybe this will help me decide. The Royal Air Force – I joined right out of school and gave it 6 years of my life. They were great years and I'm certain that I can come up with a few stories that will be of interest and even a few that might make you smile. Flying – I am a qualified Private Pilot, even though I no longer fly. My time learning to fly was full of adventure and daring do and things that I did both before and after getting my licence should fill a few lines. Running – I love to run for fitness and for fun. I know very little about the science of running but I am more than happy to talk about it and of course share my experiences. Sewing – Probably the biggest thing in my life these days. I am a qualified seamster and love to make beautiful cushions and bags out of recycled and reused fabrics. I also produce works of art out of fabrics and would love to share my work and my techniques here. Deciding what to write shouldn't be too tough but I am interested as to what other myLoters would like to read. I look forward to talking with you all in the comments.

Welcome to myLot. Enjoy the site! The first step for all newbies is to read the Guidelines to learn what is allowed or not on the site. Although it is not obligatory, you can write a post introducing yourself so that we can get to know you. Furthermore, read around as much as you can, Like and Comment on other members' posts. Only then will members come to your site and do the same. This is called interaction. Although it is optional, adding the name of your country to your account page will help make some of your discussions easier to understand for other members. Don't expect too much money-wise. If you reach $5 a month (the payout limit), you can call yourself lucky.
This is where you will find out what kinds of behavior are accepted and unaccepted on myLot. When in doubt, remember the Golden Rule!

Two questions about the picture. Where is the turn signal lever and the volume control for the stereo? I like watching you tube video sometimes. I've watched a few on engagement proposals while in flight. When you flew around up there did you always tell them where you were going?

@SteveVilero I was wondering about that because if I ever went into a small plane, I never have but if I did, would like to just sail around, free like a bird. I'm a co-pilot for a friend who fly's a drone. He uses a camera viewer. My job as co-pilot is to report any people coming into the fly zone. We can't be around airports or fly too high. He keeps a log and takes it very seriously. I find some people will discuss stuff here while others don't. It is all what a person wants. Hope it works for you.

You don't have to tell where you are going or even talk in the radio if you don't want to. It depends on where you are though, big airports and government installations etc. require you to stay in touch. It pretty free and easy up there but it's the pilots responsibility to follow the rules and not hit anything.

@mynameiskate Learning to fly a drone is definitely on my to do list. There is a lot of regulation for drones here in Spain, but I'll get round to it one day. So many things to do!!

I have been sewing to some extent all of my life. More so in the last 4 or 5 years. It is a great skill to have although you will find you have a lot of friends that just want you to adjust things or repair things for them, (for free of course).. hehe

Sewing is a great passion. I sew everyday and learn everyday too, often from my mistakes but that's half the fun.
