'When I was hungry you gave me to eat....'

My daughter is reviewing her career choice, she wants to be more hands-on with the marginalized. That's good, I said. You are at another crossroad. Then she asked if I had dreams unfulfilled. Yes, definitely, I said, like feeding the hungry.
I've always wanted to cook arroz caldo for the poor and serve them my self. I never got to do that.
My daughter said we will do that.
Yay.

How I wish we could really make that feeding program happen. I'd love to see children eating happily.

@eileenleyva I'm sure you'll make it happen with the help and commitment of your daughter, Eileen. Raise your hand and lean forward, God will walk you through the noble deed. How many children are you planning to have over?

Used to cook for an orphanage for some twenty girls. They did love my spaghetti and pecadillo.

If I was not immuno-compromised, I would begin today. So many destitute in need of food.

The plight of our fellow Filipinos in London this time of pandemia did make her reassess her calling.
When she comes home, she wants to participate in the marginalized communities in the country. Previous to her scholarship, she was helping the slums in Quezon City, our biggest city in Metropolitan Manila.

I was taken aback, for my daughter's dreams stretch far and wide. She said that during her introspection, she realized that she has achieved most of her childhood dreams. Time to give back.

Wow, that's an impressive dream. I hope both of you can fulfill it. Our high school students can volunteer with a group called Second Harvest that serves the homeless in downtown Tokyo. (They also have food pantries and things in other countries. This is just a branch in Japan.)

Thus far, we reach out only to a few. Feeding and nourishing the hungry back to health is the dream.
Thanks very much for that info. We'd probably team up with such causes.
