Discrimination comes in everything, whether it be race, color, age, social status or gender and I have been so frustrated as to why these different kinds of discrimination exist in the first place. It’s unfair for the people that’s being discriminated to suffer and to have the need to actually fight for their rights when it should be given to them in the first place. I’ve been exposed to a lot of news these days and to think that we’re already in 2020, but there are still people with backward mindset and doesn’t even want to inform themselves. What can you say about this?

I think it is a mindset whereby you think that if you have money or many earthly possession you are better than other people even in terms of physical appearance

I think fear is at the root of discrimination. Maybe fear and ignorance that can turn into hate. It boggles the mind sometimes.

It just does not make sense to me like how can those turn into hate. Shouldn’t our default be kindness?

There was this psychologist that once wrote a reason for discrimination. His name was Fritz Perls and he was the founder of Gestalt Psych. His idea was that people tend to think of boundaries. Like all boundaries, there should be an outside and inside. Everything inside belongs to those in the person's domain and are safe while the rest are outsiders and are probably bad. The thing with this boundary is that its not a real place. Its like how you think your limbs are a part of you but your saliva is not after you spit it out. The same thing happens with people. Their boundary for what makes a fellow good person can be barred through characteristics by which we discriminate others.

This makes sense and I guess that discrimination has been taught to us and by the standards set by the society so it’s a matter of unlearning all these and educating ourselves.

I think they are the majority group, they might not realize it's like being discriminated until it happens to themselves. Hopefully in the next years discrimination can be reduced or even disappear.

Honestly I hate that we are in 2020 and still having to talk about discrimination. I don't see anything but another human no matter what you look like, your color, your accent, your habits, your life, etc I could go on forever but the point is everyone is a human being. No one is better than the other. We should be accepting everyone like normal at this point and it's truly just sad to see this! I hate my children are growing up in a world of hate and discrimination on others. They have been taught respect and to love everyone the same no matter what!

I have often wondered why this happens. I think discrimination can sometimes be influenced by someones home environment. If a parent believes a certain way, chances are the children will too.
