A time for firsts: A review of ordering grocery delivery from Walmart for the first time.

Holy crud, that's a long title. But I haven't really been writing much at all recently so I guess I've got a lot of extra words to get written down. Or something like that. Anyway. We did a big grocery shop on Friday, or Saturday. I think it was Friday. But I don't quite remember. The last week has been a blur of days. Anyhoo. I really didn't want to have to go into town tomorrow to pick up some of the things that I forgot to get or needed to get more of when we went to Winn Dixie, so I looked up the options that Walmart offered. They have offered pick up for groceries at our Walmart in town for about a year, which is what I was going to do. That was until I realized that since all this Covid crazy started, our Walmart has begun offering delivery for groceries. That's all I needed to hear. I started a order, and found a promo code to get free delivery out of the deal. The process is simple. I did it and will continue to do it straight from the Walmart app on my smart phone. It took maybe 20 minutes for me to find what I wanted and get my cart loaded up. After that was all done, and I was satisfied with what was in my cart, I chose a delivery time for tomorrow afternoon which was the first available one. My total came to $53.20. I would of had a &7.95 delivery fee. But I used a promo code which made my delivery free. For that price I snagged the following things: -Kellogg's 10 CT Homestyle Waffles -Martha White Yellow Cornbread Mix 6.5 oz -Duncan Hines Mug Cake Chocolate Caramel Brownie 4 ct -2- 12 packs of Dr Pepper -3- 3 oz cans of Armour Potted Meat (treat for the dogs, and I will eat it very occasionally -Great Value White Rice 32 oz -Great Value Applewood Smoked Bacon 16 oz -Great Value Whole Milk gallon -Sam's Choice Hawaiian Slider Buns 12 ct -Bryan Deli Calssics Cajun Style roast beef .5 pounds -Great Value sliced provolone cheese 12 slices -Great Balue Salsa Con Queso cheese dip 15 oz -Tostitos Scoops! Party Size 14.5 oz -Natures Own Honey Wheat Bread -Voortman Bakery Vanilla Wafer Cookies -Great Value 3 Cheese Potatoes 5 oz- 2 -Great Value Applesauce Cups, Strawberry flavored 6 ct -Great Value Frosted Brown Sugar Toaster Pasties 11 oz -Armour Original Vienna Sausages 4.6 oz can- 2 (she child loves these) I don't think I did that bad, and it will be delivered between 3 and 4 tomorrow night. I got some more stuff to stock up the cabinets. And some just fill in items that I didn't get at Winn Dixie before. I have a strong feeling that I will be doing a lot more grocery shopping this way, especially if we regress in what stages we are at with the reopening of the county. Have you used a grocery delivery service?

No grocery store near me offers delivery. I just get "oops, we aren't in your area yet'' messages when I type in my address.
