Have you ever seen a mushroom like this?

While doing our usual morning yard work, we found this strange-looking fungus growing near our guava tree. It caught our attention, however small, because of its very bright orange color. We've never seen one like this before. So I posted a picture on Facebook, and a friend helped me out by using Google Lens. It is indeed an orange kind of mushroom. I can't recall the scientific name, but I've seen similar images taken in Asia and as far as Africa. Interesting, isn't it? Have you ever seen an orange mushroom like this one?

I've never seen one quite like that though we do have some bright yellow ones and some with 'hairy' filaments something like that. There are so many different species of fungus that identifying them isn't at all easy. I'd call it a "Corona Mushroom" and say that it's a pretty little thing but stay well clear of it! (It's possibly related to the Morels and the Truffles, according to what I found in Wikipedia, but that doesn't mean that it's edible!)

Thanks for your concern. I have warned my kids about strange mushrooms so they know that they shouldn't even touch it.

It's so brightly colored that we thought it's a broken piece from a toy or something.

No idea, really. But it's apparently seen elsewhere. I might have seen a photo on Instagram and it was taken in Indonesia.

@almostoveryou not really sarcasm, just wanting you to smile. Don't feel bad if you didn't get the joke.
