Mid Day Mumbles

How does one begin a discussion like this? I do not know. What's for / What Was For Dinner? Spaghetti. I don't know. I got to the store and that's what popped into my head, so that is what I am making. I could have made any number of other things, including a recipe that I wanted to try. Nope, it will be spaghetii. Or well.. Rotini and Meat Sauce. Or Penne and meat sauce depending on which box of pasta I use. Yarn Amber, we don't care about your yarn! Would you just hush about it already? Nope You are going to hear me talk about yarn for awhile. Anyway, I'm now thinking about what yarn I want to get for when the crochet hooks I've ordered have arrived. I want to try to make a granny square. I know I want to get the redheart brand (michael's has a good sale on them online at the moment) I just have to decide on the colors. I'm going to use Lion Brand Hometown USA for the blankets I'll make for friends, but that isn't necessarily something I need to worry about right away. I just need to think about what colors I want to use though. I think I'll probably just do one solid color for each of them, and quite possibly make a pillow for them too.. Okay, I'm done talking about Yarn Now. Lists Water bottle, I can't forget that. Mask, of course that's a necessity. I also need a bag. Where did my carabiner go? Hmm... Oh, and of course I'll need sunblock Excited about our little day trip in a few days. (Mountains). The Haunting Of Maddy Clare by Simone St James is what I am re-reading at the moment. I already remember the premise, but I'm going to keep going because remembering it hasn't deterred me. I'm not sure I liked this hero as much as I like the other hero's in her books, but meh..

I enjoy reading your posts about your yarn. I haven't crocheted in years and have thought about doing it again. My only problem is Daisy likes to sit beside me and she is always shedding.

Ah yes. Well you could put the yarn in a bowl, but that won't necessarily stop her hair from attaching itself to the yarn, especially if she's right beside where your working up the yarn. Maybe you could try with something small like a dishrag?

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yeah, maybe. It's been so long since I crocheted that it will take me a while to learn again.

@simone10 I think that you would pick it up again very easily. I tried to learn over a decade ago, and then just recently when I was re-teaching myself, it came back to me as if i had never stopped. I also realize now what it was that I was doing wrong before.

You can use youtube to help you. There are several people on there of all different nationalities. I am going to the mountains in a few days (a day trip) and I need to prepare.

It sounds like you have a lot of little projects going on. I think I have everything I need for my out of town trip starting tomorrow..although I wanted to make some cute 4th of July snacks to take along..and I will have to put them in the freezer to get them good and cold so nothing melts along the way. I do have a couple of small freezer packs too, I will probably throw in for good measure.

It wouldn't hurt to put the freezer packs in just in case. That reminds me, I need to put ice in the ice tray so that I can put some of the ice in the water bottle. It's supposed to be 88 degrees in the mountains that day, but I also want it so that I don't have to buy a drink along the way.

I am curious about that trip to the mountains. We also have a plan for a day trip but it was a no go.
