So here is the question that I pose to you all: Are we nuts? situation: My wife and I have three small children; 3years; 2years; and a 1year old and now we are hoping to adopt 2 more children from Haiti. What are your thoughts? Are we nuts?

Our two girls - They are best friends.
I feel the need to shed some light on this discussion. Consider this some insider information! So pretty much only one person that you're nuts! Well, as the before mentioned wife I will tell you that we are in fact nuts!!:) By our fifth wedding anniversary, in 2 1/2 months (February 16th, right driscollini?) I will have spent 46.15384% of our married life pregnant! When our son was born I had spent 61.22448% of our married life pregnant. One might ask if I enjoy pregnancy ... and I would have to answer, um no! But we do love our children. They are so special and individually unique and literally gifts from God. We don't have lots of money, we are not rich, but we love each other so very much and we love our kids! We are adopting from Haiti the poorest country in the Westren Hempishere and the third hungriest in the world. Our kids have never gone hungry. Our kids have never gone to bed without a goodnight kiss and have never gone through a day without hearing and knowing that both of their parents love them very much. Are we nuts? Some days it sure seems like it ... but I think we'd be nuts not to give a child (or two, or three) a chance at a better life!

.......children is blss - adopting children
i think u two are elevated souls. i havent come across any couple doing this, that's great indeed. however a few thngs u shud keep in mind. we want healthy babies on this earth, healthy mentally and physically. for this we need to ensure proper bringing up and education. i guess, u are rich ppl and can afford to bring up 5 children. think before u actually go for adoption. wat's the use of adopting if he doent have a better future!!....i guess u r okay with these things, go ahead and enjoy ur life. kudos to you for deciding on adopting rather than having ur own!!

money plays a very imp role indeed. with it u can actually materialise ur thots and wishes. without it u r nowhere, even just values and thots wud go astray. money gives us a power, the power to fulfill our dreams to geart extent!!!

Do you honestly think that money plays the biggest role in the wellfare of the child? Is that based on experience or just from observation? Please be more specific. Thanks for the comment

thanks for the post. but it's not aboput affording them. if that were the case i would have never had the 3 beautiful kids that i have now. Sometimes God's plans and will are outside the scope of finacial stability.

Of coarse not. If you have the means to care for these children, then good for you. It's a wonderful thing you are doing.

yes, we were just talking about that last night. this will be the first full year that she won't be pregnant since we have been married, as long as we can make it to december 15th. (that will be my son's first birthday.) we have been married for 5 years too, so this a new area for us. lol thanks for the comment

I think that you are very good people and I wish you luck. If you can afford to give them a good home and you can care for them, then go right ahead! Good luck!

I have seven children. Am I nuts? I think if you have the means to support these children and you are loving parents, you are not nuts. If anything, I would think that you were caring, compassionate, and loving parents to have 3 and adopt 2 more. More power to you with many blessings.
