To be quite honest, I try to clear as many as I can, but I do not stress it if I can not. I had 58 notifications today when I woke up, and I probably got through 30 of them. Just try your best.

I don't want to be a bummer, but do you really have to answer them all? Maybe you want to just cross them out and start over at a more even pace. I doubt anyone is going to get upset with you.

@amitkokiladitya I only keep the comments I post, and reply to my response on other posts only. Those notif saying who's following me, mentioned or whatsoever I have uncheck it too because it's the same thing. So I can comment the important ones only. So nowadays I never get more than hundreds notifs. Even dm I turn off. I don't want to stay more here especially when I get back to campus. I might find hard to clear all those.
But I think it is reached more than a hundreds a day if I keep all notifications in a day. I usually after response to other's post, I check notif, posting own post, check notif, other's post..... So yeah, more than hundreds if accumulated in a day.
