So some more cricket talk. This time a last over thriller played sometime towards end Dec 1986 or early 1987. Teams: Australia and England in a ground in Australia. Series: Benson and Hedges. Aussies made 233 with Dirk Welham scoring 97 runs. Then England made a good start with openers and then David Gower scoring 50. Yet then England lost a couple of wickets. Simon O'Brien Donnell with ball, and Steve Waugh with both ball and in fielding being brilliant. England needed 18 in the last over. Allan Lamb then hit two fours and one six to take England to the finishing line in the last over. Overall an exciting match! Yt link :

I vaguely remember the match where Alan Lamb finished the match with a six. Cricket in Australia always had been interesting to me.

@msdivkar The last shot by Allan Lamb was a four but he had hit a six before. But for Aussies, Steve Waugh was terrific with both ball and in the field. I remember that in those days and in WC 1987, Steve Waugh was great with ball and in fielding. Later on he excelled more with bat (remember 1999 World Cup?)

@msdivkar And Graham Gooch and Mike Gatting and later English bowling led to India getting beaten by 35 runs. Kapil Dev tried hard but one person alone cannot win matches for a country!

@msdivkar Kapil Dev used to win quite a number of matches for India then. Yet one cannot always do everything if overall other team members are not doing enough.

@Adie04 That was an old match. No favorite among Australia and England, but it was a thrilling match.
