Day 348 Promise 347 Matthew 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Salt is a well-known seasoning and preservative for foods. It has many beneficial qualities for our health and well-being. Jesus told the people they were to be salt, flavorful and beneficial to those around them. If they weren’t, they were useless. As Christians, you are salt to the world. You possess the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. To hold onto that good news without telling anyone is useless to you and the world. Jesus gave His disciples a commission before He ascended to heaven. Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Their commission is your commission. You need salt to benefit the people of the world. Be the salt to a flavorless world and let them know the good news that Jesus came to save them. Let’s pray: Father, help me be salt to the world as I bring Your Word to those You bring my way. Let them see the benefits of living their life as Your child. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
