We’re supposed to have a semi-nice day today, so I’ll enjoy it before the humidity returns. Before I head out I want to give you another great song by a great Canadian act, in celebration of Canada Day earlier this month. Gee, this guy again? Yep.
#2: I’m Scared - Burton Cummings
Guess Who’s back! 
After the Guess Who broke up lead vocalist/keyboardist Burton Cummings released his first solo album. It featured the big hit “Stand Tall.” And, as usual for me, I liked the follow-up (this song) better.
Cummings said he wrote this song from personal experience: feeling downcast, walking the streets of New York City on a cold winter day, he spotted the Cathedral of St. Thomas (Episcopal) and went inside.
He wasn’t sure why he went in, because he’s “never been much on religion.” However, as he says in the song (and in subsequent interviews about the song), “Something in the air was oh so rare.”
This song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
