Life sentence

When someone is found guilty and sentenced to life in prison,should they spend their whole life behind bars or get a second chance after serving only part of their sentence

I think it really depends on what they have done to get the life sentence. If they have killed someone then no they shouldnt get a second chance. They didnt give a second chance to the person that they killed did they?

I think it is the wording of "life sentence" that bothers me most.By definition,I figured a life sentence meant a sentence FOR LIFE.My bad I guess for using logic when talking legalities....
