I have made some great homemade salsa and canned it for the winter. Anyone here doing any canning this year? I have also done some spaghetti sauce and applesauce this year. Its alot of hard work but worth the trouble.

I never thought about adding some diced cucumbers to fresh salsa. That would be good!

I do not do any canning or anything like that. I do make my own salsa that people love, but not completly home made, I do cheat a little. i get out my crockpot and put in some tostino's salsa and add some velveeta cheese to it, and a little bit of sour cream and walla. It is really good.

Thanks, I'll have to try this. I love salsa but store bought kinds have way too much sodium as is, so I want to try adding more tomatoes, etc. to it to make it healthier.

I don't make salsa, even though I would love to!! I just can't find a recipe that I can trust. If you have one that is tried and true that you would like to share, I would love to try it. Thanks!

I am a cheater and use a commercial salsa mix. I sometimes throw in extra onions and peppers or corn and black beans.
