After a quick rain shower earlier I went out to check the blooms in the garden. The Japanese honeysuckle is still blooming.
This flower started out as a small vine on the fence and has now grown into a bush.
I love the colorful blooms and the hummingbirds enjoy the nectar as well.
The smell takes me back to my childhood. Nature offers so much.

Do you ever pull the centers out of the honeysuckle and suck on the nectar inside? I used to do that when I was a kid.

@CarolDM Why should the birds get all that sweet nectar to themselves?

We again had warmer and humid weather today, though the humidity was under control.

I'm not familiar with honeysuckle and wouldn't recognize it. When does it normally quit growing or blooming there? I'm guessing the change in climate will produce changes for all our blooms. Maybe from now on if the summers continue as they were this year.

Here the honeysuckle is in bloom too. Japanese honeysuckle is rare here.Ours have white flowers at first, then turn golden yellow.

@CarolDM My parents had a bush in their yard and I just loved to walk by and smell the flowers.
