Dylan Lock is from Ontario, Canada. He is a musician and singer and quite honestly, fantastic. This young man and his drummer have been out on his driveway every Saturday night for 18 weeks during COVID performing for an hour, sometimes an hour and half. He plays keyboard, guitar and harmonica and always plays tunes everyone knows. They set up a huge sound system and his friend recorded it for Facebook. I have tried to watch it live a couple of times but it always freezes so I go watch the recording later where I experience no technical difficulties. You really oughta check this guy out. He is amazing, and cute too. Seriously, I think he is in his 20's. He and his wife are expecting their first baby later this year. What he decided to do after the first week was to set up a donate button on his Facebook page. All funds raised during these performances are going to the COVID-19 front line workers. I believe at this point he has raised over $50,000 (but don't quote me on that - I know he raised around $1,100 tonight). The neighbours all come out to watch the show, some dancing in the streets. The police did warn of social distancing rules and asked that people try and watch online. That didn't seem to change much. There is always a crowd there. And last week the mayor of a nearby city attended and even took a few turns on the drums. It was quite fantastic. And tonight, a little girl (escorted by her grandmother I'm assuming) walked up to him and handed him a small bouquet of flowers from their garden. It was soooo sweet. Next week he will still be performing his weekly concert (Saturday, 7pm EDT) but at a different location he announced tonight. His Facebook page is Dylan Lock and his website is dylanlock . ca.
