Pick & Choose (1)

Welcome to the second ever installment of the Pick & Choose discussion hosted by yours truly... and why am I starting this thing like a game show host? In a previous episode... Yesterday found me freezing for most of the day. I am not sure why as it was hot outside, and the thermostat was not set to cold here. Yesterday also found me crocheting and writing! Trust me when I say [i]that[/] alone made me feel like a weight had been lifted off my chest. Today's Episode Brings Us To... Laundry.. UGH! I could have perhaps done that yesterday, but I didn't. I've also been writing, talking with friends, and getting the stuff ready for more crocheting. Hobby Lobby's sale is this week and I'll be buying a few things, but I also need to look at Michael's. Those books are still on the shelf. I like to go to the thrift store during the week because I recognize the weekday workers more than the weekend workers. I plan to sell them a few things and ask about whether they'll buy back books for credit. I just haven't done that yet. I need to take the purple tote down and decide on what in there needs to go to goodwill as well.. Don't worry, I'll be saying this same thing for some time because that box I need to get rid of is still on my bedroom floor. Zucchini Is What's for Dinner and Sleepy Hollow is for dessert Well, not necessarily. I mean, I will be sauteeing some zucchini in a pan for part of dinner, but I may not watch Sleepy Hollow again.

I usually do my laundry in the week. I love grilled zucchini brushed with olive oil. Yummy!

I meant to take the zucchini with me when visiting a friend, but forgot. I am trying to make low carb meals so I am not sure what I will make today. I just know that zucchini will be a part of it.

@thelme55 I don't buy a lot of fresh vegetables. I buy frozen and canned veggies though. I ended up sauteing the zucchini, pureeing some canned tomatoes and added it to cauliflower rice. I would have made a sort of hearty tomato sauce with the zucchini but one relative does not like zucchini.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I see. What do you have in the fridge? When I don´t know what to cook, I just check my fridge and I cook from scratch.

I feel as if I am coming out of my shell again. That little break and time by the water did wonders. I was able to write yesterday and today which is a real achievement for me. Thank You.

@CarolDM The furthest I've been is Grandfather Mountain since the pandemic began. I doubt I'll go so far again anytime soon. We aren't out of the woods yet.

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear that you're writing again. I still haven't gotten to that point.

You'll get there. I think a lot of us are just going through a funk. This has been a strange and difficult year in many ways.

@LindaOHio I know that I try not to watch a lot of news, that has helped some. I look up the cases on the State DHHS website instead. If it's not about the virus, than national news is yabbering about the president or about VP Biden or about the riots etc. I just rather not watch it.

@Butterfingers I haven't come across that. Sometimes I can get a discussion to load through firefox instead of the opera browser.

@ScribbledAdNauseum sometimes they want us to leave a discussion because it works on other discussions

Yes! I am so happy I am able to do it again. My anxiety and just stress was getting so bad that I couldn't even crochet as I was messing up so much.

I do laundry on Fridays. For me I have been driving myself crazy with Crowdtap. I really need some Amazon gift cards. I want to get some sheets and a case for my bluetooth earbuds.

I haven't used CrowdTap in ages! I hope you can get the GC's you want so you can get those things. There are a few things I want to get too, like a zero water pitcher since our water has just gotten worse and worse.

I'm trying to eat healthier / make the rest of the family eat healthier. Me and a couple of friends are all doing it, sort of in solidarity with one that just found out he has diabetes.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Diabetes runs in my family, so I should probably be more careful than I am. But last time I had a physical they said i was fairly healthy, except for the BMI being high. But I also get out and do a lot of outdoorsy stuff. We're having spam and yams tonight.

@thislittlepennyearns Spam and yams? That's a combo I've never had before. Spam is usually paired with tomato soup and / or grilled cheese. Enjoy it. Yeah, I need to be more careful than I am. My dad's mom never took care of herself and ended up having to have both legs amputated.

I have some books I need to donate as well. I love Zucchini!

I like it too, but I don't eat a lot of it. I might try to make a low carb bread out of the rest that I have.

@Michellekidwell I may try to eat more of it and of the yellow squash too. I love squashes, but not everyone in the household does.
