Our Firewood Tree

Last winter a two-trunk hickory tree was blown over in a violent wind storm about 50 yards from our house, with no damage to anything except some undergrowth beneath the tree. When I stepped it off, I found that it had been about 80 feet tall. My wife and I have been cutting off the top branches and have worked our way down to really good sized limbs which we have been cutting for firewood for our winter weather.

Hickory is a valuable tree. I'm glad you are getting a lot of firewood out of it.

I'm glad the tree being blown over in the wind didn't do any significant damage.
