Ideally, you have to have at least six months worth of living expenses saved up as an emergency fund. Of course, with the uncertain times, I doubt if six months is enough.
I still have my job and I'm still looking for other things to do to earn. The more income streams, the better.

Currently I have enough for another 5-6 months. Though I'm also constantly looking for new ways to earn more.
