I guess I am one of those 48 percent. This was pretty mind bending and I like to think I knew a lot of this stuff already, but how far it goes is indeed mind bending. The bottom line as always is how can you fix the problem if you even refuse to understand it. The bigger problem is do most even care if this is a problem? Its only a problem if it effects them which it does, but they just cannot see it I do like the first comment because that is the difference of a country trying to get better and a country that is just stuck in its ways.
John Oliver takes a look at how the history of race in America is taught in schools, how we can make those teachings more accurate, and why it’s in everyone'...

@crossbones27 it's not that I am not concerned because I am not an American. I just don't like racism issues. That is nonsense to me.

Most people never heard of it because that is one subject that we want to be forgotten.

I did some checking in the archival newspapers, and Juneteenth wasn't much celebrated by anyone outside of Texas. In fact, there was an article in an Oklahoma paper that said the blacks in Oklahoma ignored it because they'd been "freemen for a long time" (and that was in a 1904 paper!). Additionally, since the news reached Texas slaves late (two months after the Civil War ended), Juneteenth is unique to Texas. And, truthfully, shouldn't the celebration date be December 6, the day the 13th amendment was ratified?

It was pretty interesting I thought just how you may need to go relearn what you were taught.
