From the roof of Golden Fortress in Jaisalmer, the entire golden city is visible.

Oscar winning director Satyajit Ray made film with the subject Sonar Kella. In Bengali Sonar Kella meant golden fortress. The Golden Fortress at Jaisalmer in Rajasthan is called by that name because the fortress is build with marble and sandstone having gold colour. From the roof of the fortress entire Jaisalmer can be seen and majority of buildings are build with that golden sandstone.

Wow beautiful place that is. I read in goofy. When I get a chance I must try to visit that place my friend.
