When I began this I mentioned that some of the songs might have been on albums released before the target year (1980 or 1970), but the single did the bulk of its chart action and gained its popularity in the year in question. Today is a case in point of that, as we look at a song that you have probably heard this week and may not have realized it’s 40 years old. Brass in Pocket (I’m Special) - Pretenders Gonna make you, make you, make you notice! She did! The first big hit for the Pretenders had everything a debut single could want...even though it was their third single from the debut album.
