Oh my god, did you guys see that? I am totally shocked after seeing the huge explosion that took place in port of beirut. The whole city is damaged because of the explosion. A lot of people died and I think the number of people are injured is going to cross 10 thousands. People posting a lots of videos of the incident, and it is so terrifying. It looks like you are watching a movie scene. But I am really shaking when I am thinking that it really happened. What else we are going to see in 2020? I wish I could do something for them, oh god help them.

@sparial02 Yes, things are not going well in many areas. Is it the year that is a curse or is it what people are doing that is the curse?

@kanuck1 Everything bad happens in this world, is because of humans. Bad things happens in every year, but in this year, it's just not stopping. Even personally I am suffering too. I had to close my business permanently because of Corona pandemic.

@amadeo Well, who knows. The media didn't say anything about it. No body is saying anything. But the damage it did, somebody must need to say something, why was it there? Why it explode? Why the innocent people suffer? A lot of people asking lot of questions. Let's see what they say about it.

I also seen the video and it was really terrifying that magnitude of explosion they have there. I wonder what was in the port that caused that such a large explosion and the impact was so great that even the one taking the video was taken aback and his proiperty was damaged as well despite the distance already from the port.

Yes, Explosion did the damage around 30 km of the city. It caused by ammonium nitrate. A lot of bombing happened before as you can find it in history, people used this as a bomb. The cause of that chemical explosion is still unknown. The news said 2700 ton ammonium nitrate was there, and it exploded. It looked like a nuclear explosion. The whole city is almost destroyed.

@sparial02 Yeah I am wondering why they have kept this dangerous chemical in one place. It has created a lot of damage in the surrounding areas. Sadly I heard from the news that a couple of my countrymen working there was the casualty in that explosion. They were nearby and a glass panel fell on her that gravely injured her.

No idea. It happened in a port, where 2700 ton Ammonium nitrate was present. Now how it caught fire, no body has any idea, but the way it exploded, it looked like a nuclear explosion. It is so terrifying. A lot of people lost their lives, properties, trees the whole city is almost destroyed.
