Day 366
Promise 445
Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
20 For it is not ye who speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaks in you.
Have you felt that no matter what you do, someone always comes against you and belittles your efforts?
Jesus told His disciples people would come against them when they preached the good news of the kingdom of heaven. He told them people would deliver them to governors and kings because of their faith in Him. When they stood before their accusers, the Holy Spirit would give them the words to speak.
As Christians, you encounter situations of persecution, trials, judgments about what you say and do. In those situations, the Holy Spirit gives you the words to speak. It’s Jesus’ promise to never leave you defenseless, but will always be with you to help you and protect you in every situation you face.
Let’s pray: Father, help me trust You to be with me when people come against me. Be my mouth and the words I speak. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
