Vinyal spa cover odour.

I have a 2 year old 'hot-tub' or 'spa' which is set at a constant 39deg C. The cover has been pulled apart washed with vinyal cleaner, then hot soapy water, rinsed off with clean cold water. Allowed to dry in the shade for 3 days but still has a vinyal smell about it. Is there available a method or solution available to elliminate this smell ? The water in the spa does not smell and tests OK it is notice more-so when the cover is lifted initially. Thanks. Chrisso.
