Day 3 Promise 448 Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Do you feel oppressed by the world? Are things out of control in your life? Do world events make you fearful? If you let it, life can cause fear and chaos. News reports from around the world causes alarm. The current pandemic has people shuttered in their homes afraid to walk out the door. Jesus said to put everything on Him and He would give you rest. As Christians, when you put the weight of the world on Jesus’ shoulders and trust Him to take care of you, He will. It’s His promise for the chaos in your life. Before Jesus went back to heaven, He told the disciples not to worry and gave them signs to show them He would always be with them. Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them who believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. What burdens are you carrying? Give them to Jesus and He will carry them and you. He will take all your troubles and give you peace in return. You won’t need to fear the evening news, the reports from around the world, the pandemic. He has the whole world in His hands. Let it go and let God bring calm to your life. Let’s pray: Father, the world is in chaos. Fear and despair are all around me. You promised to take my burdens and give me peace. Help me give you everything that weighs me down.
