What do you do if your best friend betrayed you?

When i was a teen, i had a best friend who went through a bad pace. She told me her mom needed a surgery but she had no cash in hand.
She borrowed from me $500 and promised to pay me the next month. However she did not. I could not find her at her working place nor her home nor our regular hideout.
There was no way i could contact her since cellphone was not in trend yet. When i saw her mom at her home, she told me my best friend had not returned home for 6 months! I knew i was betrayed. Her mom was looking good, asked her whether she went into surgery. She said hell no ! She was healthy and strong.
Thats it, lost contact , she disappeared because of money

This is one of the worst things that can happen to a friendship. You lost the money and a friend.

You never saw her again? Well, 500$ is a lot of money. I'm sure if she didn't repent herself she will have the worst karma in the end. Not to mention it's covid19 i wonder how bad shes hitting. That's not a bestfriend, maybe she used you.

she borrowed money from you because she was running away. did you tell her mother about it? can you search her on facebook?

It is so sad when people do things like this. Wouldn't it have been better to tell you the truth that she was in need of money? I am so sorry she betrayed you! I think what's worse here isn't the money she borrowed from you, but losing your friendship!
