Indian railways confirmed today, that all regular passenger trains including interstate and intercity express/mail trains which were earlier suspended till 12 August in the wake of novel coronavirus pandemic in the country, are to remain suspended "until further notice." However this will exclude the currently running 230 special trains across the country, so they will still continue to operate. Also, no window ticket booking is yet open, so passengers need to book tickets through IRCTC website only.

May be special trains are there for transportation of "special" people, because mainly these are Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains only.

Yes people depend on it for personal, commercial, professional and many other reasons, and lot of people use that as a means of employment by selling food and water and other commodities in train, but everyone related to railways have been impacted. However, health is priority and can risk spread of infection because of people movement, so really its a tough situation.

Yes and it is really important to curb on public transport , because public transport like trains carries hundreds and thousands of passengers at one time.
