Day 5
Promise 450
Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. (KJV)
Have you said something you immediately regretted? I think we all have. Words cause strife and hardship. They also cause reconciliation. Words are powerful. You can’t live without them. Words are persuasive. They cause you to act in a rational or irrational manner.
Jesus said you will give an account of every word you speak. In the day of judgment, God will either acquit or condemn you for your words.
As Christians, be aware of the words you speak. When you harm someone with your words you need to go to the person and reconcile your differences. If they forgive you, you gained your brother or friend. If they don’t, you made the effort. Confess your fault to God and He will forgive you and free you of all condemnation.
Mt 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there remember that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (KJV)
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV)
God is always ready to forgive when you come to Him confessing your sin with a pure and contrite heart.
Is there someone you need to forgive? Forgive them. God will hold you accountable for every word you speak.
Let’s pray: Father, I know my words and actions aren’t always pure and just. I say and do things that cause trouble with those I know and love. Help me reconcile my differences so I might stand before You forgiven. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

So often we speak before thinking, and not realize how hurtful or insulting or negative our words can be. It's important that we strive to think before we speak so that we choose our words carefully. Like you said, once you speak the words they can't be taken back.

@just4him Thank you. Although I can't take back words once they're spoken, I can ask for forgiveness. Like you said, they may not forgive me, but God will, and that's the most important thing.
