Give the person time. When everything is cool down then you try again talking to the person. Maybe he needs a little space for now.

Hmm, sounds like boyfriend thing. Am I right? or a father or whomever you care about.
Just stay calm, be patient and pray that he will change for the better. There will come a time you two will get to understand each other. Guys really are like that. They care for you but they don't know how to respect your feelings. Breathe, breathe, breathe.
