Do You Remember when Money Used to Be 'Something Real'?

Oh, I know money still makes the world go `round; but anymore it seems like it's not so much 'a valuable treasure you get and have to trade' as it is 'a valuable treasure you promise others you'll get to them (in exchange for their products-or-services)'---i.e. it's more like 'the power to use your credit-card more' than it is 'the actual thing-of-value' I always thought it was.' That's what people thought when they donated money to things---like they were giving the organization 'the power to buy more "help" (food & clothing for the homeless, shelter for new followers baptized by missionaries, etc.).' But now ... my brother just got a new job at Intel, which (of course) pays employees' salaries 'directly to their bank-accounts.' He asked some of his future-coworkers what day payday is; THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW! Their salaries (like his salary is going to be) are so large, they don't really have to keep track of their money! (I mean, of-course they have to 'pay their bills' and all the other expenses of life in America---so, they can't go off and buy yachts and golden toilets & such; but they don't have to live paycheck-to-paycheck nickel-&-dime-ing their daily expenses.) I guess it's like most people are with 'the air they breathe': sure, they have to make sure their breathing stays 'normal' (according to the amount of work they're doing, etc.); but they don't really worry about 'when they'll have access to more of it,' they just keep using whatever air's available to them. https://www.salarylist.com/company/Intel-Salary.htm#:~:text=Intel%20average%20salary%20is%20%2492%2C596%2C%20median%20salary%20is,salary%20is%20associated%20with%20a%20real%20job%20position.

These days we have Pay Pal and Apple Pay. I am surprised the young ones don't know what is a pay day. Some people use credit cards and get into debt.
