Gnaoua music is spiritual music at its roots, I love it so much, it is moving as the rhythm is catchy that I can not resist the urge to dancing around. It is part of the country culture, and there is Moroccan Gnawa artist also, even festival of Gnawa that happens every year, with nightly performances on Jemaa el Fna square in Marrakech, and the sounds ringing through the medina of Essaouira. Each year in the seaside town, the Gnaoua World Music Festival sees the biggest names in Gnaoua perform on the main stages, often fusing with international jazz and world music sensations including Randy Weston, Omar Sosa, and Tony Allen, and often until the small hours of the night. Tagnawit has been modernizing and has taken the direction of fusing with Jazz, blues, Raggae... however, I prefer the Original version of Gnawa Music.
