I usually go swimming just for fun, but it is good exercise now that you think about it.

You are right. It is one of the best exercises, even better than walking, if one wants to swim.

If swimming is difficult to follow, one can do jogging or brisk walking.

My father at the age of 80 swims everyday for 1 hour.He taught swimming to me and my sisters when we were 6, 8, 10 years. We were brought up in a village, so there was no swimming pool. We learnt swimming in a well. I was told swimming is good good for health. I took my son to a pool for more than a month but he could not learn. He is suffering from hydrophobia.

That is really very nice. My father-in-law is a good swimmer. He is now 82, I just cannot believe his stamina and strength and more than this, his interest.

There is no better exercise than playing at beach. You are lucky to have such a facility. ACtually jogging is the best exercise to burn the extra calories and next comes swimming. If both are not possible, one can go for brisk walking.
