My 8-year old baby painted something for me.

It's a simple blue and green 'landscape' but it represents a lot to me. It's not breathtaking, but the fact that she made it for me, means it's priceless. I hope I could nurture her ingenuity, so she can develop her skills in her hobby.
Do you have a child who loves painting and drawing? How did you encourage/him/her to develop her skills? I know I can find lots from Mr. Google, but I would like to get first-hand experiences, if there are any. Thanks in advance.

The way I encouraged my daughter (she's now 16) was through words of encouragement and praises too.
I would even share pictures to my friends and tell her about their reactions.
I'm so happy for you and I agree, what she did for you is priceless.
Keep her artworks, either frame them or have them laminated :-)

@Jenaisle It's Monday now here and so, were you able to frame the drawing of your daughter?
I'm pretty sure she will be so happy seeing her work framed :-)

@baguiojade Not yet, there are no opened studios. But I've kept it in a safe place. Thanks.

The drawing done your daughter is very nice. For the record, I do not have any children since I am single.
