Oh Why Oh Why Oh Why (or OY)

Usually we think of OY as a Yiddish term of disbelief or being upset. I'm beginning to think it's short for "oh why, oh why, oh why," because if you say O Y you get "oh why."
That's what I was saying today.
This isn't the first time this has happened, so I cannot for the life understand why this happens. But it does, and quite a bit.
As I mentioned recently, I refinanced my auto loan with my local credit union.
I contacted the original loan company (Wells Fargo) to get the exact payoff, which they provided.
That information was forwarded to the credit union, who paid exactly what Wells Fargo said should be paid to pay off the loan.
Understand, this wasn't a figure we made up or an approximation. The bank itself provided it.
And so today, in the mail.....
I got a refund from Wells Fargo because the payoff amount we paid was too much.
What in the wide, wide, world of sports is going on here??? (To quote Slim Pickens in Blazing Saddles)
No, it wasn't very much money, just $27 and some change. STILL, why did they tell us the wrong amount???
And, as I said, this has happened a number of times before. In fact, the only time I can remember it not happening in recent memory is when I paid off the house.
Then again, my credit union had my mortgage as well as the account that was going to pay off the mortgage, so they could actually get it right!
Just another one of those crazy things in life that make you go oy.
