The furthest of the three waterfalls on my adventure today was Indian Creek Falls, located nearly a mile from the parking lot. Fortunately, the path to it, which passed Tom Branch Falls, was wide, relatively level (the elevation gain was slight enough for me to not notice it), and along Deep Creek for the entire journey.
Just walking along the creek was relaxing enough for me, even in the rain. I had fun watching people tubing in Deep Creek (they rent the inner tubes from companies just outside the national park’s boundary). The rain was steady but not too much of a deterrent to me or anyone else on the path. (Yes, there were a number of people out hiking in the rain; and, yes, many of us hand umbrellas!)
A well-designed natural staircase led to the bottom of Indian Creek Falls, allowing for a gorgeous view. I’m sure that the more adventurous kids out there would have been swimming in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall, as it was very easily accessible.
I saw lots more on the trip today, but I’m always in search of those waterfalls!!!!

I’m a sophisticated hillbilly. I have a crik in my neck, which I got from looking sideways at the creek.
