I am going to have my lunch in sometime. It's an hour lunch break and I have another 30 minutes of it. Now what you see in the picture here is the side dish for lunch today. It's raw banana marinated with spices and then sauted. Though the dish is supposed to be deep fried or shallow fried, I go for a healthier way of sauting few pieces at a time in a little oil. My iron pan is better than any non stick. I use iron pan and avoid non sticks for health reasons and also for durability and easier maintenance. This dish ( you can call it spicy banana fry) tastes better when served hot. So I left banana marinated in the morning with spices for few hours and that enough marination enhances the taste. My husband and daughters had their lunch and are back to their work. I will mylot for a while and then have it. I am still not feeling that hungry. It's hot rice, sambhar ( spicy lentil curry with veggies like carrot, beans and pumpkin), banana fry, radish raita ( a dish of grated radish mixed in curd), cucumber salad and green coriander chutney. My daughters loved the meal. . This is one way they like to eat raw banana. I hope you all are enjoying your time. And for many here it might be some meal time in their time zone. What's on your plate or menu for next meal??

@amitkokiladitya Oh! I see. But what about raw banana? Many do not like ripe banana but enjoy koftas or bhaji.

@arunima25 made of ripe banana long thin slices , rice powder, maida , sugar. Similar to making mirchi bajji except that it is sweet and chili is replaced by banana slice. Just sharing a random YouTube video for information about the kerala Payampuri sweet dish

These are raw green bananas. This is a special variety that is used for curries, chips etc. They call it batisa kela and it doesn't taste good as a ripe fruit. It finds it uses in other dishes. Ellaki, robusta, lal kela etc are consumed ripe. They are not meant for cooking spicy dishes. They find their place as sweet fruit or in desserts like cakes, bread and puddings. We have a lot of varieties of banana here.

Do you use raw banana ( a different variety that is used for making curries)? You get them in veggie section in stores or market. I just cut and marinate it with hung curd, garlic, ginger, fenugreek, coriander, cumin, black pepper, chilli and turmeric.Leave it for two hours and then saute it ( few pieces at a time) or shallow fry it. We use mustard oil.
