Blocked sadly.

It is so sad that one of our fellow MyLotters found my comments harsh and blocked me. Perhaps I should be less harsh sounding. Also, perhaps I should not give very strong opinions on any topic. I didn't really mean to offend him or annoy him. This is not the first time my harsh, strong opinions have resulted in flamed threads on MyLot. So I have to be more gentle in commenting on any topic. Or would you handle this issue in a different way?

It has happened to me, too. You can't make everybody happy. You aren't friends with everybody in real life, either. As long as it is only one member who doesn't like you and not a whole group, I see no profound problem. You can live with this. I prefer an honest opinion to sugar coating any time.

@MALUSE Yes, people tend to feel offended by honest opinions many a times. Perhaps it has something to do with the wordings of the opinion. Gentler words might help, but in certain situations, words have to be strong.

I have no idea about the situation. We all have to make our own decisions.

I am always careful to what I say on Mylot. Many Asian people including me are sensitive to a harsh opinion.

The gentleman in question is indeed an Asian, though I am not sure racial background has anything to do with sentiments of a person. There was an Iranian lady classmate of mine in the university who was over-sentimental compared to others. But not sure if all Iranians are like that!

@sunil4ya Of course not all people in all races are sensitive like that.

I would have to see your answer so I can judge to say who's right.

In many such situations, each party might be right to some extent & wrong to some extent, so judging either one as right or wrong may not be possible. But I feel the gentleman in question felt offended because I made a reference to obsessive compulsive behaviour though I did not point out he was obsessive compulsive.

I don't think this is a platform to put a harsh comment. But it is also fair to put your opinion but If someone not wanna take your opinion on some topic or you think your stand can be too strong for the other person just ignore that and go to the next topic. That is what my personal take on the discussion here.

We cannot please everyone. If even Jesus had enemies and He was perfect, of course people may not like us either. That's how I see things anyway.

I have not yet crossed any of your comments. Maybe the other person cannot take such straight forward opinions. Just let it go, he/she is just one of the many mylotters here

We learn that we cannot please everyone, we cannot agree with everyone or make them agree with us. I try to avoid areas that require opinions because I rather not have a feud, but sometimes you cannot take it personally. Some people just block because they do not want to listen to all sides. I just let it happen, it is their choice, if they want to unblock at some point they can, but there are many other people on here, many other posts and many other people to make friends with.
