My Favorite Bootcamp Story

Speaking of heart, this before the political divide. In those days, I did not even know what I was and think why the Marine Corps liked me but they could tell already lean to the left. Why they ate me and spit me out so hard. I did always wonder what the hell is it with these people? 
This may sound a bit like a woos, but you try. I could not blink or squint close my left eye, still cannot till this day. Where my body is funky, I have shoulder issues but not to a detrimental effect, just a bit deformed I guess, skinny but broad shoulders. My eyes have been bad since I was born. Half blind in how poor my vision is. As the Marines say, we make do.
Anyway, in boot camp they switched me around. I am right handed but because cannot close my left eye in squinting fashion which is kind of important when shooting a automatic weapon. I struggled so hard, Could not hit a barn or however that saying goes.I Was thinking I am about to get get held back. Marines call it something else, but cannot remember. Where if you cannot pass the training they send you back a few weeks until you can pass.
My drill instructor comes, up, this guy sucks huh, we need to get rid of him. The shooting range coaches are real Marines but not drill instructors. II am not sure how they get picked other than they are expert rifleman.
I am like here we go, this were this sucky experience gets a whole lot more sucky. To my surprise the Corporal, goes, no Sergeant this mofo has heart. Are you sure because I am just watching him and dude never going to be a sniper. Maybe not but guarantee has more heart than 99 percent of these fools. I was like what just happened and you know I am right here. Drill instructor says, very well, carry on Marine.
I would barely qualify left handed when I am right handed, and later the training was so good, in the National Guard, they gave us the wrong bullets for our M 16's and I did better than most. This one guy who has been in over 25 years goes damn you good even with the wrong bullets . Who knew shooting with wrong bullets makes them come out a bit sideways, they actually said it was dangerous and should have never happened.
My coach now looking back on it was right wing as they come, could just tell looking back on it. See, I have no problem with the right wing as long as they are fair and honest.
