Day 25 Promise 480 Mark 10:29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, 30 But he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. 31 But many who are first shall be last; and the last first. Many people believe working for the church is foolish. It’s a dead-end job with few rewards. Jesus told His disciples when they did His work, He would provide everything they need and give them eternal life. The benefits of serving Christ far outweighs anything man could give. As Christians, you have an eternal insurance policy that will never expire and whose benefits are both earthly and heavenly. God promised to provide everything you need in this life. Psalm 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. (KJV) Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (KJV) God provides your needs and your desires when you trust and believe in Him. Jesus also told His disciples they were not to trust in their wealth, but in Him alone. Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (KJV) Matthew 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are ye not much better than they? 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. When you put your life in God’s hands, He will take care of all your needs. Jesus didn’t say it would be an easy life, but one of persecution. Many people died because they preached the gospel to people who rejected Jesus as the Son of God and the only one who could save them. Being a Christian and serving Jesus Christ isn’t a dead-end job, but one with benefits and heavenly rewards. Let’s pray: Father, help me see my life as one of service to You, knowing You will provide everything I need and desire. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
