Turmeric... the Incredible Root

Turmeric is a spice that comes from turmeric plant which originated in Asia. Its root is used widely to make alternative medicine aside from natural cosmetic and food coloring (Thanks to curcumin, a yellow-colored chemical present in its roots). At this time of uncertainty, many have speculated that this incredible root has the ability to help the body fight against Covid-19. My family and I have good experiences while benefiting from this but for now, I do not recommend as an alternative medicine to fight against Covid 19 because I do not want to confuse everyone (better to seek health professionals for our own safety). According to a post in webmd.com, Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19): Some experts warn that turmeric may interfere with the body's response against COVID-19. There is no strong data to support this warning. But there is also no good data to support using turmeric for COVID-19. Follow healthy lifestyle choices and proven prevention methods instead. There is nothing wrong in taking alternative medicines but at least we should consult our trusted physicians because we do not know if we really need it or not or if it could really help or just worsen our ailments/conditions. photo downladed from: https://www.freepik.com/free-photo/turmeric-powder_1326906.htm#page=1&query=turmeric&position=2

We use turmeric in cooking (not a lot, but in certain dishes) and we just hope to benefit from any of the health benefits. I don't doubt that too much could be bad - but that is with anything.

Ayurveda has mentioned and used turmeric in many medicines. (The ingredients of the Ayurvedic medicines usually has Turmeric in it) @hereandthere It's been said that, if you drink Turmeric Milk ( 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder in one cup of milk, then boiled helps you with sore throat. If you have cough, then jaggery + Turmeric Powder mix them and have pinch of it 3 times a day helps clearing it

Many medicine come from plants and herbs. So, it's not surprising that turmeric may have helped you against the virus. Ginger has been proven to have helped in curing throat diseases. So, your assumption is possible. I hope someone conducts an empirical study to find out the truth, so people can use it as a inexpensive treatment or tool for its therapeutic effects.
