Everyone who knows me knows that it’s unlike me to pass up a waterfall. Today was no exception. I found a waterfall in a small park in Joplin, and since I was in the neighborhood.... This is the humorously-named “Great Falls” in Joplin. As you can see by the photo, it’s not a “destination” waterfall, but one worth seeing on a “detour.” You can probably tell, based on the people walking in the water, that it’s not very deep nor very far of a drop. It’s more of a cooling off spot. On this hot Labor Day weekend day there were plenty of locals doing just that. It won’t make my all-time favorite waterfalls list, but just about any waterfall is worth a look if it’s in the neighborhood!

Great Falls looks like a really lovely waterfall. The people there seem to be enjoying themselves. A waterfall visit is something that I really enjoy.

I saw that when I was in Joplin, but was too sick with tonsillitis to go in. I love waterfalls!
