HEY There! Top Ten: Hey You (#2)

NOW the pecking order is known, given that there’s one song left after this one and you probably know what it is. You probably knew this was coming, too, give that I’ve used it before. No problem: good songs need to be heard more than once. Crank it up and enjoy it again! #2: Hey You - Bachman-Turner Overdrive So it seems that Randy Bachman didn’t care much for his former Guess Who bandmate Burton Cummings. This song was aimed directly at Cummings, shortly after Cummings quit the Guess Who (Bachman had left in 1970, right when they were making history as the first Canadian act to have a #1 song in the US). Today all that snipping is healed, and Cummings and Bachman frequently tour together. In fact, as I mentioned before, there’s a video on You Tube of them doing this song, prefaced by Cummings admitting that it’s a great song, even if it was an angry swipe at him.
