I'm sure where you live, at your new home, you have many delightful places to have family picnics. Here, on our property, we did campings, picnics, and bonfires, too.

@everwonderwhy most thingies here've thorns, albeit tiny. those which prick yer fingers'n with 'em bein' so fine ya jest gotta put tape o'er 'em 'n wait fer 'em to wish to exit yer body, lol. finally got rain this week. cold, sideways schtuff with very high winds. very insultin' to go from 92 degrees fer a high one day'n 42 the next. the rain 'tis too late 'xcept fer the dryland wheat farmers. not 'nough time fer the native grasses to grow :( that bein' said, the non-native trees/shrubs 're doin' the happy dance.

Those everlastings, actually, are thornless in the stems. The pretty petals are sharp and 'shardy' to the touch, though. I hope you get much rain and moisture this autumn.
