I’m a long time Mark Twain fan. His real name of course Samuel Clemens. He spent time in both Tuolumne County and Calaveras County, we live in Tuolumne Co there’s a cabin he lived in located on Jack Ass hill, yes that’s really the name lol. Mark Twain of course wrote a lot of humor and satire but he wrote on serious matters too. Perhaps it is Mark Twain’s brief time here that has driven me to admire him, maybe it is the fact that I read Huckleberry Finn at a time when I needed an escape and it opened my eyes to a different reality. But one thing that I greatly admired about him was the way he defended Helen Keller when she was accused of Plagiarism as a young girl of only ten.
