What is difference between Jews and christian?

Jews rejected Jesus (pbuh) saying he is a magician and slander virgin mary and Christian rejected Mohammad(pbuh) saying lier and Madman. Why do people react so hard to someone who is sent by God to teach Good things in life? Will u react to Jesus(pbuh) in the same way as he will come in the end time of life?
