Few years back,i was working with a professor overseas,he told me to tutor the young ones since they are non English speaker..and these people thinks they are smart and knows everything than their tutor.I lost my patience so i gave up haha.Anyway i am not a teacher.
How will you deal with the over smart people?

Sure make it a challenge a game fun, for them to. be careful though they may end up liking you. My dog taught me how to deal with ones way more sophisticated if you will and it worked so well my other dog who never liked anyone liked her.

I have bumped into those kinds of people back in the day, what I did was just to ignore them. I don't really have patience to deal with people like those.

It's like impossible actually and if they are students and that too online then it'll be a lot tougher

You have to be cunning. People who think they know everything probably do get things right some of the time, so it's a good idea to establish their confidence in you by praising them for what they do get right. Once you have done that, you can begin to demolish their over-confidence by making them see where they are wrong.
It may take a while (and there just may not be enough time to do it) but if you can spare the time, they will thank you for it in the end. Sometimes, though, you will just have to give up and leave them to their own devices!

For me over smart people are not over smart people if they outsmart others.their prideful and its a nO,no you cant teach a person who thought they know everything because it will end up humiliating their teacher or making other stupid. Real smart people are the ones who humble themselves and pretend to know nothing or just humbly share their knowledge

It does require tons of patience.
