Day 36
Promise 494
Luke 12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is today in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knows that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
People work hard their entire lives to obtain a good life, and give an inheritance to their children. They worry that they will never have enough.
Jesus told His disciples not to worry about the basic needs of their lives, clothes and food, because God knew what they needed. Instead, they were to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness and God would give them everything they need.
As Christians, you know God will provide everything you need.
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (KJV)
When you do the work of the kingdom, God adds abundantly to your life. Not only your needs, but also your desires.
John 10:10 The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Ps 37:1 (A Psalm of David.) Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. (KJV)
Mark 10:29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,
30 But he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
When you put God first, He takes care of everything in your life. You have nothing to worry about.
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you.
You lose nothing when you serve Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and do the work of the kingdom.
Let’s pray: Father, help me not to look at what the world offers, but look to You for everything I need, knowing You will supply all my needs according to Your riches by Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
