Proning buys you time....then why not in hospital?

To what I have learned from research thus far, proning has proven to be effective for every age breathing issue. My question lies in why isn't it being used as a method of treatment before shifting to a ventilator also why is dexamethasone not being used instead of remidisifier. We are told to use proning for shortness of breath then how come doctors not use it for treating COVID-19 specially in most countries where cases are increasing.

I'm not sure if proning can be done to those who are really not feeling well. I mean, if the patient still stable, they might be able to do it.

Yes it has to be done before a person is left at no self control but mostly they avoid active proning for which I find no reasoning yet
